An Exeter Township High School senior was hit by a vehicle today while crossing the street walking to school, Exeter School District High School Principal Bill W. Cain confirmed.

The accident happened Wednesday Jan. 8, at the entrance to the school at 201 W. 37th St., Reading. A female driver was turning left onto the W. 37th St., where the student was crossing. She did not see the student crossing the street and he was hit.

‘He was conscious and talking to us,’ Cain told The Southern Berks News.

The student had bruises and scrapes from the accident and was taken to the emergency room by an ambulance, for the proper precautions.

The school is currently waiting to hear an update on the student’s condition.
