The borough has issued a boil water advisory for customers of the municipal water authority. According to the notice posted to the borough’s website, customers are advised not to drink any water from their faucets without boiling it first for at least one minute. Customers are also advised to use bottled water if possible for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes or food preparation.

The notice said the boil water advisory has been issued after a drop in the system pressure at the water treatment plant.

Customers should boil their water ‘until you receive a notice stating that boiling the water is no longer necessary. You should receive a notice in 48 hours,’ according to the notice.

‘We anticipate resolving the problem in several hours,’ the notice read.
