On Saturday, July 25, The Kwik Shoppe held a 50’s party, donating part of the proceeds to the local fire company. With $1 specials all day, a DJ, balloons for the kids and a 50/50 drawing, the event offered fun for the community while supporting a cause.
The Shoemakersville Fire Company brought a fire truck to support the event.
The Kwik Shoppe donated half of the proceeds of the 50/50 drawing to the Shoemakersville Fire Company Truck Crew and the other half went to the drawing winner. The drawing raised $820, and the fire company received $410.00
“The Fire Company is very grateful for the donation,” said fire company Lieutenant Tim Seyfert. “The Shoemakersville Fire Company relies on donations from area residents and businesses to continue to provide the community fire protection with up to date equipment and training for all the firefighters. The fire company is constantly holding fundraisers to raise money for new equipment, so anytime a business in our community raises money for us it really means a lot.”
