‘Tis the Season to be Freezin’ on Jan. 1, 2016. the Borough of Pottstown Parks and Recreation hosts the 8th annual Polar Bear Swim in the Schuylkill River at Riverfront Park, 140 College Dr., Pottstown.

Celebrations will begin at 10 a.m. and the Polar Bear Swim in the Schuylkill River will commence at 10:30 a.m. Registration is from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Participation in “The Plunge” is free.

Now accepting participants ages 16 & 17 with adult or guardian authorization.

Help us to ring in the New Year by joining us for a bonfire at our scenic Riverfront Park. Take a winter stroll and enjoy the vista as we gather along the banks of the Schuylkill River.

This annual get-together is growing in popularity and has fast-become an annual holiday tradition in Pottstown. An open-air bonfire and a brisk winter dip are just the way to start the year. Make it your resolution to join us in the park.

Pork hot dogs with sauerkraut, drinks and other goodies will be available to ensure that you have good luck throughout the year. These items are available for a nominal fee.
