The Hamburg Police Report that on Aug. 25 at about 1 p.m. officers made an arrest for assault. Officer’s responded to the 200 block of S. 4th St. in Hamburg for reports of a physical domestic.
The 32-year-old female victim of Hamburg informed officers that she had been assaulted by her boyfriend, Justin Schaner, age 33 of Hamburg.
Officers approached Schaner in the rear of his residence to make an arrest.
At this time, after refusing to control his dogs, one of the dogs bit an officer while placing Schaner in custody. The officer had minor injuries but was transported to the hospital following the incident.
