On Saturday, September 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Warwick County Park will be hosting Community Day in partnership with South Coventry, Warwick and East Nantmeal townships.

County residents and neighbors will learn much about the various artistic, recreational and not-for-profit associations they may not realize exist “in their own backyard.” Designed as a fun-filled, interactive and educational day, learn, play and explore with local and non-profit organizations, a variety of vendors, recreational activities and more.

At 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., Forgotten Friend Reptile Sanctuary’s Reptile Explorers Family Nature Program will feature 15 live snakes, lizards, turtles and crocs from all around the world. They will also have shells, skins and other stuff on loan from the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service for kids to touch to their heart’s content.

At 1 p.m., Ranger Erb will lead a two-mile family friendly hike as part of the Chester County Walks Day in conjunction with Owen J. Roberts Wellness. Get your walk on and help reach our county-wide goal of walking 1 billion steps by the end of 2017! Be sure to register for your free online WalkerTracker at chesco.org/walkworks to start counting your steps.

Activities planned include pony rides, wagon rides, caricatures, face painting, animals and archery. Visit with Smokey Bear and look inside emergency service vehicles. The Friends of Warwick County Park will provide food concessions.

Parking, admission and most activities are free. The event is sponsored by the Chester County Board of Commissioners, Facilities & Parks Department, Friends of Warwick County Park, and South Coventry, Warwick and East Nantmeal Townships.

Warwick County Park, 191 County Park Road, Pottstown, is located four miles west of Route 100 off Route 23 in the village of Knauertown. For additional information, please call 610-469-1916 or visit chesco.org/parks.
