On Saturday, Dec. 2, an evening of Bluegrass Music featuring The Kevin Prater Band will be held in the Reinholds Fire Company Banquet Hall, Route 897 in Reinholds.

The Kevin Prater Band comes to us from Belcher, Ky. Their sound has strong vocal harmonies. They are steeped in the tradition of Gospel music and base themselves on the tradition of acapella hymns and great gospel songs that people enjoy. The band also includes classic country and loves bringing the old familiar favorites to life.

Danny Stiltner is one of the most talented bass players in eastern Kentucky. He is carrying a legacy started by his father, Blake Stiltner. Danny also contributes vocally.

Tom Timberlake is multi-talented, playing banjo & guitar and singing harmony and lead vocals. His harmonies are second to none.

Jake Burrows and his brother, Adam, come to the band with a lot of bluegrass knowledge and experience for their young age. Heavily influenced by Earl Scruggs, Jake brings a fiery banjo as well as an emotion filled dobro. He also sings any part.

Adam Burrows, older brother to Jake, brings an energetic fiddle and the ability to dance the stage while playing and singing. His energy keeps the elder band members on their toes. He has learned the original styles of many legends.

Kevin Prater began his musical voyage at the age of 4. He was encouraged and mentored by his uncle, Boone Estep. Kevin has moved from being one of the best sidemen in Bluegrass to leading his own talented and unique band from the hills of Appalachia, creating that pure Kentucky sound of The Kevin Prater Band. His solid rhythm and lead vocals are the backbone of the group.

Appearing with The Kevin Prater Band will be Chester Johnson & The Foggy Mountain Grass along with Scott Eager. There are requested donations per person of $15.00 for adults and a lower price of $10.00 for ages 13 to 17. Children under 12 are admitted free. Doors open at 5pm and music starts at 6pm. Food will be available by the Reinholds Fire Company. The Fire Company is located at 138 Main Street, Reinholds, Pa. 17569. The Shindig may also be found on FaceBook at Farm Country Shindig.
