The 28th Annual Belt Sander Race to benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society was held on July 14 at Bertie’s Inn, 160 Old Friedensburg Road in Exeter Township. All proceeds benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

To date Bertie’s Inn has donated more than $350,000 to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

An estimated 400 people attended the event to watch 30 teams compete in Belt Sander Races. The sander that crosses the finish line first wins. The contest is double elimination – you have to lose twice before you are out of the game. Trophies are awarded for first through fourth places and the team that raises the most money. Each team/ rider must raise a minimum donation of $50 to compete.
