Missing 74-year-old hiker and two boys found at Hawk Mountain Sanctuary after five-hour search

Rescue teams found a 74-year-old hiker and two boys who had become lost while hiking at Hawk Mountain Sanctuary in Kempton on Wednesday.

Robert Durn, 74, Allentown, and a 9-year-old boy and a 5-year-old boy departed for a hike on the Sanctuary trails at about 10:30 a.m. on June 20.

At about 6:30 p.m., Durn and the boys were reported missing. Search and rescue teams from state and county agencies were dispatched to assist in the search.

About five hours later, search and rescue teams found Durn and the boys at 11:45 p.m. They were evaluated by medical personnel.

Assisting in the search for the missing hikers was the State Police, Hamburg.
