Crank up the AC folks, in case you hadn’t noticed the heat is on. Fear not, because 99.9% of our venues have the sweet luxury of air conditioning and those that don’t have huge supplies of ice to mix with your favorite beverage!
Not to dwell, but you know it’s hot when Jim Meck only has two shows scheduled. We have another entry into our favorite band name list as the Honey Badgers take the stage at Blind Hartmans. If you haven’t seen the honey badger (the animal not the band) video on YouTube (not the real documentary, the one with the alternate sound track), take a couple minutes and get a laugh.
There are some really cool shows hitting the big stages. Get The Led Out will be doing a show on the Ocean City Music Pier and BIG rocking names like Areosmith, Cheap Trick, The B52s, Stevie Nicks and Nickelback are all in the area and so are demi-legends like YES, Kenny Loggins, Levon Helm and Arlo Guthrie.
The big stage pick of the week is of course Areosmith with Cheap Trick. If you have to ask why, you don’t get it so buy a seat and find out. Locally, WTIM friends Stephanie Grace and Black Hat Boris will be gracing (unintentional pun, sorry) the stage at Boyertown’s historic State Theater. You WILL enjoy Stephanie’s set; and Bob Dan Matt and Jay of BHB are always fun to listen to.
Looking forward to the end of July, The Fleetwood Blues Festival is coming up! Look at next week’s WTIM for complete show times. The Reading Motorcycle Club’s annual bash is also on the horizon and this year’s festivities promise to again host one the area’s largest collections of local talent at one event. Again watch WTIM for show times. STAY COOL folks…
Do you want to see your band or venue listed here at WTIM? Send an email to redneck@berksmontnews.com with the particulars (at least two weeks in advance) and we’ll get it out there.
