Margaret A. (Ravert) Evans, 82
Margaret A. (Ravert) Evans, 82, of Fleetwood, died June 29, 2012 in the Lutheran Home at Topton where she was a patient since June 25.

She was the widow of Harold E. Evans who died April 7, 1988.

Born in Plymouth, Luzerne County, she was a daughter of the late John C. and Gwen (Jones) Ravert.

Mrs. Evans was a homemaker.
Survivors: Daughters, Christine A. (Evans) Rhoads, Reading and Gail M. (Evans) Lorah, Fleetwood; sons, Harold C. Evans, Petosky, Mich.; Howard J. Evans, Leesport; Roger A. Evans, Fleetwood; Robert A. Evans, Fleetwood; Rodney A. Evans, Leesport; and James V. Evans, Kutztown; step daughters, Carol A. (Evans) Wagner, West Reading and Linda S. (Evans) Reineck, Reading; step son, William R. Evans, Oley. Other survivors include a sister, Betty S. (Ravert) Thomas, Plymouth, and a brother, John C. Ravert, Reading. There are numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Charles J. Loch, 88
Charles J. Loch, 88, of Weisenberg Township, Lehigh County, died July 1, 2012 in Arden Court, Wescosville.

He was the husband of Laila A. (Angstadt) Loch. They recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on June 14.

Born in Weisenberg Township, he was a son of the late Clarence A. H. and Verna Mae (Wessner) Loch.

He was a member of the U.C.C. congregation of Ziegel’s Union Church, Breinigsville.

Mr. Loch was a self-employed dairy farmer in Weisenberg Township for more than 62 years. He also was known as the “Potato Man” on his huckster route in the Topton area.

Charles was a member of the Old Time Plow Boys, Kutztown; Topton Pioneer Grange #1777; Kutztown Fire Company and the Kempton Gun Club.

Survivors: Wife; daughter, Karen A. (Loch), wife of William T. Boyd, Mertztown; sons, Martin C., husband of Laura C. (Stauffer) Loch, Dennis C. Loch, and Joel K., husband of Brenda A. (Rabert) Loch, all of Kutztown; grandchildren, Loretta M. (Loch), wife of Thomas Sterner, Edward M. Loch, Rebecca P. (Boyd), wife of Donald Nissley, Melanie E. (Boyd), wife of Michael Fink, Dora L. (Boyd), wife of Jowal Simons, and Shana R. (Boyd), wife of Joshua Hanna. There are also 12 great grandchildren.

He was pre-deceased by brothers, Paul and Lester C. Loch.

Funeral services were July 5, at 11 a.m. from Ziegel’s Union Church, 9990 Ziegel’s Church Road, Breinigsville, PA 18031, with Reverend Bruce D. MacLaughlin officiating. Interment in the adjoining cemetery. Friends could call July 5, 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the church.

Zachary Shin Patterson, 26
Zachary Shin Patterson, 26, of District Township, Berks County, died unexpectedly June 30, 2012 in Alburtis.

Born in Seoul, South Korea, he was a son of Robert G. and Sylvia F. (Dalla Palu) Patterson, Montrose, Colo.

He was a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church, Bally.

Zachary attended Brandywine Heights High School. He worked in landscaping. Zach had a love of baseball and played many years for the Longswamp Township Athletic Association.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a daughter, Kylie Amber Patterson, Topton; and a brother, Tyler Bae Patterson, Crested Butte, Colo.

Helen M. Adam, 81
Helen M. Adam, 81, formerly of Richfield, and Kutztown, died July 4, 2012 in Manor at Penn Village, Selinsgrove.

She was the widow of Ernest F. Adam who died on June 23, 2003.

Born in Kutztown, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Esther M. (Berger) Kerchner.

Survivors: Daughters Esther M. Adam, Richfield, Brenda H. (Adam) Grenoble, McClure, Darlene R. (Adam) Weader, Middleburg; sons Kenneth E. Adam, Kutztown, Ernest A. Adam, Medford, Wis., David W. Adam and Carl L. Adam, both of Richfield; Brother Milton H. Kerchner, Bally; step sisters Fern M. (Bennicoff) Yerger, Boyertown, Mary A. (Bennicoff) Brossman, Hamburg, Betty J. (Bennicoff) Smith, Fleetwood; step brothers Russell Bennicoff, Bernville, Francis J. Bennicoff, Frackville; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was predeceased by daughter Dale M. Angstadt on Oct. 18, 2001.

Carl F. Pauley, 78
Carl F. Pauley, 78, of Mertztown, died July 1, 2012 in his home.

He was the husband of the late Janet I. (Confer) Pauley, who died this past March.

Born in Mertztown, he was the son of the late Freddie and Margaret (Fegely) Pauley.

Before retiring in 1995, he worked for DEKA East Penn Manufacturing for 21 years.

He was a member of Christian Congregation Church, Mertztown.

During the Korean War, he served as an Army Corporal.

Survivors: Sons, Donald and his wife Christine of Norristown, Keith of Schwenksville, Larry of Mertztown, daughter Amanda, six grandchildren, Ashley, Angela, Jeremy, Amy, Tiffany, Cheyenne, six great grandchildren, Nicholas, Gavin, Dylan, Mason, Dominick, Isabella.

He was predeceased by a brother Richard and sister Doris.

Danny R. Wyatt, Sr., 60
Danny R. Wyatt, Sr., 60, of Richmond Twp., died July 2, 2012 in the residence of his son, Danny R. Wyatt, Jr., Pottstown.

He was predeceased by his wife, Mary E. (Yeager) Wyatt, who died March 16, 2009.

Born in Waynesville, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Fred and Clara (Wyatt) Greene. He worked for various foundries in the area and last worked for Conestoga Foundry, West Hamburg.

Danny was a member of Lenhartsville Fish and Game Association. He enjoyed fishing, cookouts, watching his grandchildren play, and going to casinos.

Danny is survived by a son: Sgt. 1st Class Danny R., Jr., husband of Chrys’tale Wyatt, Pottstown; one daughter: Crystal K. Wyatt-Saylor, wife of Joseph J. Saylor, Richmond Twp.; two grandchildren: Savannah Wyatt-Saylor and Dominic Saylor; two step-grandchildren: Meiziaha Taylor and Montre Hawkins; one brother: Fred Greene, Jr., Reading; and one sister: Sherry (Greene) Carver, Pacolet, South Carolina. He was predeceased by a sister: Deborah K. Wyatt.

Michael P. Phillips, 83
Michael P. Phillips, 83, of Rockland Township, died July 3, 2012 in the inpatient hospice unit of Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown. He was the husband of Florence M. (Tustin) Phillips. They were married Aug. 30, 1952.

Born in Conshohocken, he was a son of the late Michael A. and Anna (Prosock) Phillips.

Mr. Phillips was a member of Saint Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Kutztown.

Michael was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a 1946 graduate of Collegeville-Trappe Joint Junior Senior Consolidated High School.

He worked for more the 20 years as a tire builder for B.F. Goodrich Tire Company at its former Montgomery County location.

Survivors: in addition to his wife of 59 years, sons, Michael P., Jr., husband of Velda Phillips, Fort Thompson, S.D., and Timothy M. husband of Stephanie A. (Sutton) Phillips, Mertztown; daughters, Susan M. (Phillips) Geist-Bailey, wife of William C. Bailey, Westfield, Tioga County and Eileen B. (Phillips), widow of Gregory A. Geist, Lawrenceville, Tioga County. Other survivors include a sister, Alice D. Phillips, Bellingham, Wash., and a brother, Thomas J. Phillips, Charlow, Mont. There are also 10 grandchildren, three step grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, July 16, at 9:45 a.m. from Saint Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 14833 Kutztown Road, Kutztown, 19530, with Rev. Msgr. Walter T. Russel C. Conrad, 69
Russel C. Conrad, 69, of Richmond Township, died July 4, 2012 in his residence.

He was the husband of Dianne L. (Fields) Conrad. They were married Feb. 15, 1969.

Born in Pike Township, he was a son of the late Charles W. and Esther M. (Ohlinger) Conrad.

Mr. Conrad was a former member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Oley.

He was employed as an equipment operator by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation for more than 28 years, retiring in 2001. Mr. Conrad was a member of Pikeville Sportsmen’s Association.

In addition to his wife he is survived by a son, Scott R., husband of Diane M. (Smith) Conrad, step son, Chris A., husband of Tracey (Becker) Fields, Alsace Manor, brother Lloyd C., husband of Ruth (Mengel) Conrad, Mertztown. He is also survived by a grandson, Jacob R. Conrad and step-grandsons, Michael C. Fields and Alan Burkhart.

Memorial services will be held July 14, at 2 p.m. in the Ludwick Funeral Home, 333 Greenwich St., Kutztown with Reverend Roger M. Ulrich and S.A.L.M. Charles I. Scharadin officiating. Joyce I. (Snyder) Trexler, 85

Joyce I. (Snyder) Trexler, 85, formerly of Alburtis, died July 9, 2012 in Lehigh Center, Lower Macungie Township.

She was the widow of Leon H. Trexler, who died Sept. 16, 1998.

Born in Topton, she was a daughter of the late Victor D. and Florence M. (Eisenhower) Snyder.

Mrs. Trexler was a member of Church of the Good Shepherd United Church of Christ, Alburtis, where she was active with their church bazaars and craft fairs.

Mrs. Trexler was employed in the production department at Kraft Foods, Fogelsville, from 1973 until her retirement in 1989. Prior to that, she worked at the former Royal Manufacturing, Alburtis.

Mrs. Trexler was a member of the Red Hat Society, Macungie. She enjoyed bowling, bingo, knitting, and spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors: Sons, Larry L., husband of Yvonne (Lehr) Trexler, Palm Harbor, F;a.; Robert L., husband of Judith M. (O’Brien) Trexler, W.Va., and Lynn T. Trexler, Mertztown. She is also survived by a brother, Roy K. Snyder, Fremont, Calif. There are eight grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and a great-great granddaughter.

Ruth V. (Hartman) Dries, 81
Ruth V. (Hartman) Dries, 81, of Kutztown, died July 8, 2012 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.

She was the widow of Frank G. Dries, who died July 22, 1989.

Born in Lynn Township, Lehigh County, she was a daughter of the late Francis A. and Bertha (Peter) Hartman.

Mrs. Dries worked as a sewing machine operator at the former Benham Knitting Mills, Kutztown for more than 24 years. She also worked as a prep cook at the former Moselem Springs Inn, Fleetwood.

Ruth was a member and former president of the Kutztown Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and a member of Lyons Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, Lyon Station. She was also a member and former Trustee of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 839 Ladies Auxiliary, Kutztown from 1997 until last month.

Survivors: Daughters, Nita E. (Dries), wife of Lester L. Hess, Kutztown and Karen L. (Weiss), wife of Glenn Bollinger, Palmertown and a son, Keith D., husband of Marguerite P. (Snyder) Dries, Kutztown. Other survivors include sisters, Ellen F. (Hartman), widow of Norman Reppert, Kutztown, Annie A. (Hartman), widow of Stanley Ely, Kutztown and Joyce I. (Hartman), wife of Jay Sacks, Fleetwood; brother, Russell C. Hartman, Mohrsville. There are eight grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a son Neil A. Dries in 1994 and a daughter, Patricia A. Dries in 1999, and a sister Bertha M. (Hartman) Adams and brothers, Paul S., Milton S. and Henry A. Hartman.

B. Ellen Templin, 100, of Topton, died on July 5, 2012, at Topton Lutheran Home.

She was formerly of Reading.
Born in Reading, on May 15, 1912, she was a daughter of the late Bertha M. (Beiber) and Leroy Smith.

She was the widow of Ralph A. Templin, who died March 28, 1965.

Ellen worked for Talbott Knitting Mills.

She was active with the Berks County Senoirs and was in choir for 50 years with the former Faith United Methodist church.

Survived bya son, David A., husband of Susan G. Templin, of Wernersville; a sister, Pearl M. Snyder, of Macungie and two grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by 2 brothers John W. and William Smith also, a sister Jane Horst.

Religious Service was at St. John’s Lutheran Chuch, Sinking Spring, at 10:30 a.m. on July 11, with The Reverend Harry S. Bohn officiating. Friends were invited to call Wednesday 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church.Interment at Pleasant View Cemetery, Spring Township. Harold (Mike) D. Pauley, Jr., 64, of Spring Twp., died on Sunday, June 24, 2012 at his residence.

He was the husband of Angelika E. (Verbooy) Pauley.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Harold D., Sr. and Mary V. (Ferro) Pauley.

Mike proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force for 22 years, including the Vietnam Era. He then went onto work in the private sector as a Supervisor. Afterwards, he took on his retirement job at Manor at Market Square, brightening the days of the residence with adventures and acts of kindness.

Mike was happiest working on his classic car and motorcycle. Aside from being the neighborhood handyman, he loved spending time with his family and friends and dogs.

Surviving in addition to his wife are three children: Marina (Thrash), husband of Russell G. Kenny III; Daniela Thrash; and Shawn Pauley, fiancé of Naomi Steiner.

Grandchildren: Russell G. Kenny, IV and Gabrielle P. Kenny.

Brother, Daniel, husband of Joanne Pauley.
