Come one, come all to Bally's Irish Wake

With support of the Bally Borough, the Bally Lions Club, and countless numbers of other community organizations, volunteers and vendors, The Bally Hotel is proud to announce the 39th Annual Irish Wake. Spanning Thursday, March 14 through Sunday, March 17, the “dead” will surely “wake” with out entertainment, fire spirits and authentic Irish fare.

Located in the heart of Bally at 660 Main Street (Pa Route 100), The Bally Hotel has had its doors open to the public for over 165 years, entertaining the masses with prompt service, great food ad intoxicating spirits. Opening daily at 11 a.m., The Bally Hotel will serve our full menu and Irish dishes until 10 p.m. at which time we will serve late night food tent-side. So come in for some great food and spirits then party the night away until 2 a.m. under our circus sized heated tent.

Developed for over 3 centuries, The Bally Hotel’s Irish Wake has a multitude of fun planned for the whole family. Nightly, the hotel will host members of the Cameron Highlanders Pipe Band to Pipe for the dinner hours and into the night where a funeral procession will enchant you then D.J. Eclipse will pick up the party tent-side. A full weekend of entertainment is planned starting with Vuja De, Thursday at 7 p.m. Some of the other notable entertainers scheduled are Fake MacKenzie, The Whiskey Hicken Boys, Red Hill Ramblers, Hired Hands, Muscle Shoals Revival and others will fill the hours between awake and sleep during the 4 day event. This year, Family Fun Day will be held on Saturday March 16; this is to allow an enjoyable experience for the wee ones without having to experience St. Patrick’s Day shenanigans. Family Fun Day will start up bright and early at 7 a.m. with The Bally Lions Club hosting their All You Can Eat pancake breakfast tent side with live music, Celtic dancers, and a full bar. If The Lions Club is successful with this fund-raiser it will become a Wake tradition; so please come and show your support for this organization. At 11 a.m., The Lions Club breakfast will wrap up and the fun of the family fun day beings Bally style.

Kaitrain Celtic Dancers take center stage at 9 and 11 a.m. where they’ll dance traditional dance to Celtic music.

At noon, the 5th annual Coffin Racers will be called street side to line up and get ready to win one of the coveted coffin race trophies. In addition, there will be hot dogs and hamburgers tent side, arts, crafts, games, and also kids karaoke hosted by our D.J. with more than 100,000 songs to choose from.

Live music starts at 3 p.m. and the fun will wrap up by 5 p.m., so try to get an early start for the wee ones to enjoy.

St. Patrick’s Day Corned Beef and Beer Breakfast

In our continuing effort to support local economy, we need your help to utilize the more than 30 businesses and organizations involved in The Bally Hotel’s Irish Wake. One of these organizations is The Bally Lions Club who through your contributions and support of their various fund-raisers and other campaigns throughout the traditional year allows the organization to hold the annual Easter Egg Hunt, the Halloween Parade, Christmas Tree Lighting, along with the traditions health and sight related charities of The Lions Club.
