Kutztown University Foundation & Alumni Engagement welcomed 180 graduates back to campus for the bi-annual Ladies Tea held earlier this month.
Held twice a year in spring and winter on campus, the KU Foundation office welcomes back women who have graduated from the Class of 1976 and earlier to a tea.
“The women enjoy a lunch, tea and musical entertainment,” said Mary Neuenschwander of the KU Foundation.
This year entertainment was provided by Bear Voices under the direction of Dr. Dennis Williams. KU President F. Javier Cevallos, Ed Richmond (Interim Director of the Foundation and CFO), Alex Ogeka (Direction of Alumni Engagement), and Phil Irwin (Major Gift Officer), all tux up and serve the ladies tea and chocolate covered strawberries, said Neuenschwander.
“The purpose is to welcome back female alumni to let them see the changes that have occurred on campus,” she said. “Three years ago, the women of the Ladies Tea formed a scholarship committee, and at this tea, they celebrated that this scholarship was endowed.”
The scholarship will be awarded to a female resident of Pennsylvania who has completed their freshman year and maintained a minimum grade point average of 3.0.
A winter tea will be held on Dec. 4.
