Hit-and-Run on I-78 West
Police are investigating a hit-and-run accident involving an unknown driver on June 5, at 3:15 p.m. on I-78 West at mile marker 40.6.
The incident occurred when the driver towing a trailer passed a 2013 Hyundai Sonata being driven by Kiesha McCoy of Pittsburgh. The trailer made contact with the right front fender of the Sonata. Both vehicles made it to the shoulder, where McCoy told the driver of the other vehicle that they should pull off onto exit 40 to exchange information. The driver agreed to pull onto the exit, but as McCoy pulled into a gas station on the exit, the driver fled the area.
DUI arrest after car crashed into utility pole
Bambi Cocci was arrested for DUI after crashing her car into a utility pole and leaving the vehicle. Cocci was driving a 2004 Ford Explorer XLT at 12:55 a.m. on June 4, on 724 at East Main Street when she lost control and struck a utility pole. Cocci then proceeded to leave the scene and return to her house. Police inspected the vehicle and discovered an open bottle of beer on the front driver side floorboard. Police proceeded to the registered owner’s house and arrested Cocci for DUI.
Trespassing at vacant farmhouse
Police are investigating the trespassing of an vacant farmhouse at 00 Block Bick Road, in Rockland Township. Sometime between the hours of 5 p.m. on May 31 and 9:25 a.m. on June 1, unknown person(s) entered a vacant farmhouse owned by Irene Egrie, of Fleetwood. Egrie saw that items were moved, but nothing was taken from the house.
Students charged with public drunkenness
Two Alsace School students have been charged with public drunkenness. The incident occurred at the school on June 3, at 9:45 a.m. The two students were discovered by staff to be acting as though they were under the influence of a controlled substance. Both smelled of freshly burnt marijuana. A 17-year old female student was found in possession of a small amount of marijuana and a 16-year old male student was cited for Public Drunkenness of a controlled substance.
