The Tulpehocken Sr. Legion team began the week with a 5-2 loss to Fleetwood. The Wildcats scored one in the first and four more in the second then held on for the victory.

Eric Hartranft was the losing pitcher.

On June 27, the Thunder played host to Tamaqua in the Berks/Schuylkill League contest. Tulpehocken fell behind, 3-0, but scored seven runs in the bottom of the second and went on to win the game, 10-7.

Avery Bachman doubled and Eric Hartranft tripled to lead the Thunder. Austin Showalter was the winning pitcher.


The next day, Tulpehocken traveled to Hamburg where it suffered a 7-1 loss. The game was close at 3-1 when Hamburg pulled away with four runs in the sixth.

Matt Kerber led the Thunder with two of his teams five hits. Eric Fleming was the losing pitcher.

On July 2, the Thunder played host to Oley/Topton. The Patriots scored twice in the first, then added single runs in the fourth, sixth and seventh innings on their way to a 5-2 victory over Tulpehocken

Brandon Hartranft led the Tulpehocken offense with two hits and a run scored, while Kerber also had two hits. Aaron Schneck added a triple, stolen base and one run scored.

Starting pitcher Eric Hartranft was the losing pithcer, allowing two unearned runs on a hit and two walks.

Brandon Hartranft pitched 5 1/3 innings of relief, allowing three runs (two earned) on 10 hits and two walks. Derek Kissling came on to get the last two outs in the seventh inning.

Hamburg Sr. Legion

The Hamburg Reds began the week June 29 at home against Fleetwood. The Reds scored a run in each of the first four innings and defeated the Wildcats, 4-1.

Jake Wapinsky was the losing pitcher.

On June 30, the Reds played host to Tulpehocken. Thanks in part to a four-run sixth inning, Hamburg defeated the Thunder, 7-1.

Jacob Leinkiewicz had three to lead the Hamburg offense and Matt Bensinger chipped in with a double and three RBIs.

Tyler Seidel was the winning pitcher.

On July 2, Hamburg played host to Oley/Topton. The Reds played the Patriots tough until the fifth inning with the Patriots scored five times on their way to a 6-1 victory over the Reds.

Bensinger had two of the four Hamburg hits in the game, while Alex Riegel took the mound loss. Alex Pelican and Ian Hamilton each doubles for the Reds.
