Centerport Lions Club. Jamming Sessions will be held every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month. Music starts at 5:30 p.m. All musicians welcome.

Senior Citizens Club of Hamburg. The Hamburg Seniors meet at 2 p.m. the second and fourth Wednesday of each month in the Hamburg Area Middle School cafeteria. If school is canceled on the meeting day because of bad weather, the meeting is canceled.

Hamburg Public Library Story Time: The Hamburg Public Library has story time on Wednesday mornings at 10 a.m. for ages 18 months through 3 years old. At 11 a.m. there is story time for preschoolers and home schooled early elementary. The schedule is available on the library’s website at www.berks.lib.pa.us/hamburgpl.

Hamburg Public Library Board Meetings: Library board meetings are held the second Tuesdays except July. Public encouraged to attend.

Chestnut Knoll Assisted Living, 120 W. Fifth Street, Boyertown, hosts a monthly family support group for those who are coping with Alzheimer’s disease. It is affiliated with the Alzheimer’s Association and is held on the third Thursday of each month at 6 p.m.

Hamburg Farmers Market

Continues every Saturday through October 12 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Located at the front of the 4th and Pine municipal parking lot with customer parking available in the back of the lot. Rain or shine.

2013 Art Raffle presented by Hamburg Area Arts Alliance. Buy a ticket and take a chance! Tickets will be on sale until September 17. Proceeds benefit the Hamburg Area Arts Alliance. Drawing will be held on September 18. Winners will be notified by phone. Contact the Hamburg Area Arts Alliance at 610-562-3106 with any questions. There is a cost per ticket. Winners pick artwork in the order they were drawn.

“Space Jam” at the Hamburg Pool as a “Dive in Movie.” There is a cost. The food stand will be open. Event is rain or shine. Starts at 9 p.m. Hamburg Parks & Recreation.

Bernville Community Day

Games start at 4 p.m. at Umbenhauer Park. Beer Garden 6-9 p.m. Games: ring toss, goldfish game, duck pond, lollipop tree, dime pitch and more. Live DJ at 8 p.m. Fireworks start at dusk.

Picnic in the Park

Sponsored by Central Berks Lions Club at Central Berks Fire Company Park. Entertainment by The Jalappa All-Stars from 6-9 p.m. Food served beginning at 4 p.m. includes hot dogs, hamburgers, BBQ, french fries, waffles and ice cream, soups, drinks, etc. Drawing. Bring lawn chairs. Picnic will be held rain or shine.

Incredible Edibles and Medicinal Plant Walk

10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Kaercher Creek Park, 3401 Old Route 22, Windsor Twp.

Join naturalist “Porcupine Pat” McKinney of the Schuylkill Conservation District in a fascinating search for plants that were-and sometimes still are-eaten or used for medicinal purposes. Participants will have the opportunity to taste common edibles. Caution will be stressed. This walk is for youth ages 10 and up and for adults.

A Muggle’s Guide to Geocaching

10 a.m. at Gring’s Mill Barn, 2083 Tulpehocken Road, Spring Township.

This beginners’ program leads you through the fun and practical applications of GPS navigation. Participants will learn how to pinpoint locations, mark waypoints, plot courses and create routes. They will then head outdoors for hands-on experience. Individuals may bring their own GPS devices; loaners are available. This program is for all ages.

This program is presented by the Berks County Parks and Recreation Department.

Trivia Tuesday

The CI Hamburg Super-Store Tuesday night regulars are going home blowing friends and family away with all this new knowledge! Did I mention the prizes you win with this fun trivia night? Winners go home with t-shirts, cigars and hats, just to name a few! Come out and see for yourself! Who would’ve thought you could sip martinis, beer and liquor, load you up with prizes and leave the bar with new trivia knowledge! Martini Specials run throughout the night. Blacksmith Day
