The new Ambulance 89-2 has been delivered to Elverson EMS and will soon be ready for use in service.
The new vehicle is a 2010 Pierce Medtec Redimedic on a Ford E-450 chassis. It was delivered July 12 and should be in service this week once the radios have been mounted.
The ambulance cost $65,000 and has only 18,000 miles on its odometer. It was previously a demo model on display at NASCAR’s Darlington Raceway in North Carolina since it was built. This will be the first time it is used in service.
It replaces a 2003 Horton ambulance with 195,000 miles, which is being sold for use as a work truck for a private contractor.
