Our goal this year is $105,000.”
This popular event celebrates local cancer survivors and gets the community involved. Participants become the canvas as they run/walk past the five color stations on the cross country course. Daniel Boone Staff and Relay will be volunteering to toss the colors. Let the fun begin! The awesome array of colored powder adds to the excitement of the day. The cornstarch food colored powder is biodegradable and will wash off.
Cancer survivors and their supporters of friends, family, and neighbors all participate. Teams are formed, friends invite friends and new friendships are formed all working toward one goal while celebrating the day. A large turnout is expected for the first “Color Relay.”
“It is a family affair! All proceeds go to the American Cancer Society to find a cure for this dreaded disease,” Marvel said. “One special person Denise Cook, a cancer survivor is on the Relay for Life of Daniel Boone Committee and also on a Relay Team.
