Albright College will host a forum for students interested in learning about the business of fashion on Saturday, Oct. 5, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., in the Science Center.
The keynote address will be offered by fashion designer R. Scott French ’87. French, a designer of both men’s and women’s sportswear, is also co-founder of TheFashionList.com, an extensive online calendar highlighting fashion and beauty events worldwide.
The Business of Fashion Forum will also feature breakout sessions with industry executives from Boscov’s, Urban Outfitters, DKNY, Piper Boutique and David Yurman. New to this year’s event are sessions focused on the legislation affecting the fashion industry and on selling oneself to potential employers. Students will also have the opportunity to meet alumni and network with regional leaders in the industry.
“We have a full lineup of experienced speakers that enables us to highlight the very important business aspects of the fashion industry,” said Doreen Burdalski, assistant professor of fashion merchandising and design and chair of the fashion department.
The Business of Fashion Forum is open to students from Albright and neighboring colleges and universities in Berks County and the Greater Philadelphia region. Students from local high schools with fashion programs are also invited to attend.
Each ticket cost includes lunch and the keynote address. To register, contact the Albright College box office at 610-921-7547, email email@example.com or purchase tickets online at http://albright.universitytickets.com/user_pages/event_listings.asp.
