On Sunday, Oct. 12, .the Friends of Hopewell Furnace will present a program on findings of an archaeological dig in Berks County that is open to the public. The free program will begin at 2 p.m. in the Hopewell Furnace Conference Center.

For the past four years, the John Shrader Chapter 21 of the Society of Pennsylvania Archaeology has been investigating the Mouns Jones House, the oldest house in Berks County.

<![CDATA[4 charged in theft schemes at retirement complex]]> Amity Township Police announced the arrest of four different women in relation to three different theft incidents at the Keystone Villa Independent Living retirement community last month.

Julie Bieber, 41, of Bernville, Sasha Coles, 27, of Pottstown, Arionna Coles, 22, of Norristown, and Renee Bearden, 35, of Pottstown, were all arrested and charged related to thefts which occurred at the beginning and end of August, the Amity Township Police announced Wednesday.

When it does, there is plenty of help for the addicted individual for treatment and recovery. The question is, where is the help for the family to recover. Like the addict the family needs help.

Through their community outreach, New Hanover Evangelical Lutheran Church is opening their doors to the public to learn about the dynamics which happen with addiction not only for the addict but also for the family.

<![CDATA[Boyertown teen takes top honors in National Video Contest on Transportation Infrastructure in America]]> A high school student from Pennsylvania and an undergraduate student from Florida Polytechnic Institute were named winners of the American Road & Transportation Builders Association's (ARTBA) 4th annual "Student Transportation Video Contest."

They will each receive a $500 cash prize.

The association received more than 30 entries this year in two categories.
