His wife Judy wanted to honor him for more than 50 years with the Boy Scouts.

The monthly Stand Downs held near the City Park Bandshell, Reading, are the epitome of just that - donations of love and kindness.

It all began four years ago, when Douglassville resident Betty Clark and Doug Graybill, Veterans Making A Difference, teamed up to help the homeless.

However, the stone culture of early Pennsylvania was quite elaborate, and stone was used for practically for every purpose. Fieldstone arched bridges which dotting the landscape by the hundreds just a century ago or more ago are now rare.

<![CDATA[Boyertown Area Fire & Rescue report to early morning structure fire]]> Boyertown Area Fire & Rescue was dispatched to a structure fire--garage at 220 North Reading Avenue--on Saturday, Dec. 13, at 0453 hours [4:53 a.m.].

Upon arrival firefighters found smoke venting from the doors of the garage and with water lines ready they entered the garage to find the source of the fire.

<![CDATA[Boyertown Area Fire & Rescue reports to chimney fire]]> Boyertown Area Fire & Rescue was dispatched to a chimney fire at 142 West Philadelphia Ave., a single family residence, on Friday Dec. 12, at 1426 hours [2:26 p.m.].

The owner reported the fire and the house was evacuated on arrival of fire company. Investigation found active fire in the chimney between the first and second floor.

There was a time when he knew what it was to struggle through life.

Growing up in Norristown, Watson, who is now 38, was raised by his grandmother and, he recalls, it was sometimes tough going.

The Pottstown YMCA was the site of a MOMS Club Gift-A-Way Event on Saturday, Dec. 6.

The MOMS Club, with the help of several local businesses collected toys for families in need. Saturday was the first event of this kind in the Pottstown area.

My mommy got sick so she couldn't take care of me anymore. My mommy and daddy were very sad and so was I. I was very happy to leave for my foster home. They have other dogs for me to hang out with and two teenage girls for me to snuggle with.

<![CDATA[Three families purchase toys for Haylee's Christmas Tree Project]]> Three families from the Living Waters Fellowship congregation purchased toys for Haylee's Christmas Tree Project.

The drive for toys was started by an 11-year-old girl named Haylee who had spent some time at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and saw the need to encourage and bless the children there especially around Christmas time.
