<![CDATA[BACA celebrates 25th anniversary with free spring concert]]> The Boyertown Area Choral Association will celebrate the start of its 25th Anniversary season with a free spring concert on Sunday, May 3, at 3 p.m. The concert will be held at The Good Shepherd United Church of Christ, located at 35 W. Philadelphia Avenue in Boyertown.

As always, the chorus will present a variety of musical selections to appeal to a wide audience, from well-known songs like "Bridge Over Troubled Water" to toe-tappin' favorites like "It Don't Mean a Thing If It Ain't Got That Swing" and the Broadway hit "Ease on Down the Road.

<![CDATA[Hamburg's First Mini-THON a success]]> Hamburg's first Mini-THON took place at the Hamburg Area High School on Saturday, April 18. Going into the student run and organized event, the goal was to raise $5,000 with all proceeds directly benefiting the Four Diamonds Fund. At the time of the interview with junior Hannah Schreffler, who brought the event to Hamburg, the event raised just shy of $6,300.

<![CDATA[Hamburg residents work to keep town beautiful]]> "Keep Hamburg Beautiful" is more than just a catchphrase, at least for the dozens of volunteers who gathered Saturday morning, April 25 in the Primrose Alley Tot Lot. The group was part of a clean-up initiative organized by the Our Town Foundation and sponsored by several businesses.

"When people come to visit Hamburg, we don't want them to see our streets riddled with litter," said Lori LaPearl, event coordinator.

<![CDATA[Shoemakersville Fire Company's Lights and Sirens Parade set for May 2]]> To describe the upcoming Shoemakersville Fire Company No. 1's Lights and Sirens Parade, the Parade Chairman and 17-year volunteer at the fire company, Tim Seyfert, said, "It's a very long-term fundraiser and it's for the community to join us in our celebration."

A 2000 graduate of Hamburg Area High School, Seyfert described how he has been working on the parade planning for more than a year, many days for four hours or more each day.
