<![CDATA[$730k in state grants to back local swimming pool, parks, Schwank says]]> Two parks in Berks County and a swimming pool in Fleetwood have been awarded nearly $730,000 in state grants, state Sen. Judy Schwank said today.

The money, from the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, will help to expand French Creek State Park, upgrade Pendora Park and rehabilitate the Fleetwood Community Swimming Pool.

<![CDATA[Multiple vehicle accident closes Route 422 in Exeter]]> Route 422 was closed in both directions Friday, OCT. 17 after a tractor trailer was overturned in an accident between Route 345 and Lorain Road.

A tractor trailer travelling west struck a Hyundai Elantra attempting to turn in front of it. As a result of the crash, the tractor trailer was turned over and the driver of the tractor trailer was pinned inside, according to police.

The chances of it tipping off the ramp were always present. Besides the weight, there is the ramp to deal with. One must get enough momentum to hit the ramp, drive it all the way into the bed and stop before hitting the bulkhead of the truck.
