<![CDATA[Garden Spot Village Train Club celebrates 10th anniversary with open house]]> Garden Spot Village Train Club held an open house display for their 10 Year Anniversary, on Dec. 13.

Many children and families waited in line to see the different train display layouts.

The club had their first opening in 2004. The room had been reconstructed in 2012 to accommodate the many visitors.

<![CDATA[The Salvation Army Glenmoore: More than 1,000 families received a holiday meal and toys for Christmas]]> More than 1,000 families from Honey Brook, Glenmore and Elverson received food for a holiday meal and toys for the children on Dec. 19 in time for Christmas.

"For The Salvation Army Glenmoore Food Pantry Christmas 2014, 1,025 people were assisted for Christmas," wrote Cindy Yearsley, Regional Manager, The Salvation Army, to the Tri County Record.

<![CDATA[Listen Up: Keep it simple]]> It's amazing how one small incident can trigger a flood of thoughts and memories.

I remember hearing Charlie Daniels playing "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" for the first time. Even being a viola player I had a hard time understanding how to play it. At my best I could only manage to play about 85 percent of it and then not quite up to speed.

<![CDATA[Christmas tradition continues for Boyertown Girl Scout Troops]]> It is a tradition for the Girl Scouts of Brownie Troop 1759 and Junior Troop 1854 to visit Walnut Woods each year to sing Christmas carols.

On Monday, Dec. 1, the girls sang many songs that included Silent Night Holy Night, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and Jingle Bell Rock. Many of the residents of Walnut Woods, who attended the event, sang along.

<![CDATA[Amity Township residents to see no tax increase]]> The Amity Township Board of Supervisors unanimously approved on Dec. 17 a 2015 budget of $4 million with no tax increase.

Taxes will remain at 1.95 mills.

Properties with an assessed value of $100,000 pay an annual tax bill of $195.

Township Manager Charles E. Lyon confirmed that the township will receive $165,000 in earned income tax revenue by Dec.
