A bicyclist was killed this morning after running through a stop sign and striking a pick-up truck driven by a Kutztown juvenile.

Andrew Price, 43, Fogelsville, was riding east on Valley Road in Weisenberg Township at about 10:12 a.m. on July 31 when he failed to stop at a clearly posted stop sign at Bogerstadt Road, according to State Police.

His bike struck the front fender of a 1996 Ford Ranger Pick-up Truck headed north on Bogerstadt Road, The truck was driven by a Kutztown male juvenile, whose name police did not release.

After impact with the truck’s front fender, Price was thrown from his bike onto the truck’s windshield and then to the ground.

Price was pronounced deceased at the scene at 11:16 a.m. by the Lehigh County Coroner. His death was the result of multiple traumatic injuries. The manner of death was ruled an accident.

The juvenile male did not sustain any injuries, he was wearing a seat belt. His truck sustained heavy damage.

The 10 Speed Thompson Elite Bicycle sustained severe damage, the front forks broke off from the bike.

Assisting at the scene were Weisenberg Township Fire Department, Fire Police, Lehigh County Coroner, Cetronia Ambulance, Hausers Towing, State Police Troop M Fogelsville Patrol Unit Members, Troop M CARS Unit, and Troop M Forensic Services Unit.
