Joseph Carmen, Staff Supervisor and Deputy Chief of Elverson’s EMS (Emergency Medical Services) announced that he will be among the instructors teaching a CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation) Pro class at the Twin Valley Fire Department, 4456 Main Street, Elverson, on the first Saturday in October (October 6) from 9:00 a.m.to 5:00 p.m.

Carmen said, “The class is free to participants and limited to 20 students. We are taking people on a first come-first serve basis. The curriculum is geared toward people involved in EMS; however, anyone interested in learning CPR are encouraged to attend.”
He stated, “CPR is a valuable tool that everyone should know. You too can save a life (so) be prepared! The sooner CPR is started the better the outcome for cardiac arrest. Public awareness and demand have increased to the point that currently AEDs (automatic external defibrillators) can be found for use in malls, schools, churches, golf courses, and other public places. The computer on the device will talk you through the steps.”
