National Penn recently participated in the United Way of Berks County’s 10th annual “Stuff the Bus” initiative which provides backpacks and school supplies to students across the county who otherwise may not have what they need to start the year. The items are distributed to youth in the Berks County Homeless Student Program; Olivets Boys & Girls Club, Opportunity House and other organizations.

National Penn employees donated various school supplies, backpacks, as well as school uniforms to the initiative. Loading them onto the United Way bus are, left to right, Marjorie Ahrens, Berkshire Boulevard branch manager, National Penn; Jim Ferry, Retail Bank director, National Penn Central Region; Jane Moyer, Early Care and Education Program director, United Way of Berks County; Kimberly Starks, administrative assistant, National Penn Central Region.
