A Gilbertsville Realtor was presented the Realtor Active in Politics Award by the Pennsylvania Association of Realtors this week in Harrisburg.
Greg Herb, owner of Herb Real Estate and a Pennsylvania Association of Realtors past president, was honored for his exemplary legislative volunteerism on behalf of the association. Herb is currently the association’s Legislative Committee Chair. He has championed the campaigns against Private Transfer Fees, mandatory sprinklers in new home construction, and Appraisal Management Companies regulations. He has also testified before state Senate and House committees, providing valuable insight on proposed legislation on Mechanics’ Lien and property tax reform. He received PAR’s Realtor of the Year Award in 2010.
His advocacy inspires other Realtors to get involved in legislative issues. He is a President’s Circle member and a strong supporter of the national and state Realtors Political Action Committees (RPAC).
Earlier this year, Herb received the National Association of Realtors’ Federal Political Coordinator Meritorious Service Award, which recognized his outstanding service as a Federal Political Coordinator (FPC) to Congressman James Gerlach. The FPC program through the national association assigns a Realtor key contact to a member of Congress. Herb has served as a liaison to his Congressman since 2005 and volunteers in a variety of capacities with Gerlach’s campaign.
Herb is a past director of the Suburban Realtors Alliance, an organization dedicated to ensuring that public policy decisions affecting real estate create a healthy climate for housing, our industry and the real estate consumers.
He served as president of the National Council of Real Estate Brokerage Managers (CRB) and traveled to China on its behalf.
Herb holds an associate degree in real estate and has earned Realtor designations including Accredited Buyer’s Representative (ABR), Certified Real Estate Broker/Manager (CRB), Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) and Graduate, Realtor Institute (GRI) and the GREEN certification. He practices real estate with his wife, Kathy Kolarz, and his son Andrew.
