Robeson Elementary Center held their seventh annual Race for Education on Friday, October 26, 2012.

‘Race for Education is our school’s largest fundraiser of the year. We raise funds for teacher grants, field trips, playground equipment and other PTO sponsored projects’, said Jen Morocko, Race co-chair.

The kindergarten through fourth grade students and teachers walked to raise money for their school. In addition, a one-mile fun run was offered to third and fourth grade students. Prizes were awarded to the first three boys and girls to finish in each grade. The One Mile Run winners, sponsored by Parisi Orthodontics included: Nate R., Seth H., Noah T., Ian T., Abbie H., Kristen G., Sophia M., Jade S., Abigail L., Ben W., Chase R., and Emma Mae J.

Healthy snacks and prizes for all students were donated by Parisi Orthodontics.

‘It was a great day for the children to exercise and learn about healthy eating all while raising money to support their school and teachers’, said Jennifer Herring, Race co-chair. This year’s Race for Education raised approximately $21,000 for the school.
