The tour began in 1979 with a fall open house at Rohrbach Pottery, the studio of Linda Austerberry, ceramic artist and former Boyertown Area High School teacher. Visitors of the pottery enjoyed seeing where things were made and purchasing art directly from the artist. Several years later, in an effort to promote the arts in the Boyertown area, Rohrbach-Austerberry developed a tour of local artists’ studios.

Two years ago, Rohrbach-Austerberry teamed up with members of Studio B, the home of Boyertown’s Art and Activities Alliance, a committee of Building a Better Boyertown, and Danielle Fisher, owner of Clayote, a clay studio formerly located in Boyertown to create the Fall into Winter Tour.

Now in its third year, the tour–held the weekend before Thanksgiving-highlights the work of seven studios and galleries featuring affordable art and crafts produced by over 50 local artists.

The hours of the tour are 10 a.m.-5:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, November 17 and 18, 2012. Maps of the tour sites are available at participating studios.

This year the tour will feature:

Rohrbach Pottery Linda Rohrbach-Austerberry has been producing functional stoneware designed for cooking since 1968. The works of other local craftspeople will also be on display.
