Tim McCall, senior at Twin Valley High School, is November’s School to Career Student of the Month. McCall interns for the Reading Phillies, working with Director of Community Relations and Internship Coordinator Mike Robinson. The focus of his internship is geared towards dealing with the ticket sales of the organization. Mainly he brainstorms new and better ways to market ticket sales for the Reading Phillies and makes phone calls to potential clients.

Always having enjoyed baseball, McCall believed that the internship would be an enriching experience that would also set him apart from other students. He now understands the ‘behind the scenes’ work that goes on in a sports program. The experience holds valuable information for McCall, who has aspirations of becoming a sports marketer.

‘Having the knowledge from this experience will enable me to use it in other businesses that I may come into contact with,’ McCall said, expressing how much of an impact working with Robinson and the Reading Phillies has had on him.

‘Tim has the willingness to learn and explore the opportunities that the Reading Phillies Baseball Club has to offer,’ stated Robinson. He said that McCall has a great attitude and shows initiative each time he walks into the office.

McCall commented on his relationship with Robinson, expressing that he is an ideal mentor and has given him valuable lessons that he will carry on into the future.

McCall has plans to go to a four year college where he will receive an education in sports management and communications. He also will play lacrosse during his college experience. He would like to thank the Twin Valley internship program and the Reading Phillies for setting him up to succeed. Congratulations, Tim McCall, and best of luck with whatever the future holds for you.
