COATESVILLE, Pa. – The Western Chester County Chamber (WCCCC) held its 82nd annual dinner recently at French Creek Golf Club. Highlighting the evening was the presentation of the Joseph G. Filoromo Community Service Award to Frances M. Sheehan, president and CEO of the Brandywine Health Foundation.

Sheehan has demonstrated an incredible commitment to the Coatesville community and to the improvement of the city. She has singularly and tirelessly made the development of Coatesville and the region a focus of attention. Sheehan has served as the president and CEO of the Brandywine Health Foundation in Coatesville since April 2002. In that period, the foundation has made more than $10 million in grants to improve health in western Chester County, including bringing a Federally Qualified Health Center to Coatesville, helping to launch a new dental center, partnering with the county and school district to bring behavioral health services to children in the community, and building a health and housing center, the first major development in the City of Coatesville in over three decades.

The Chamber also recognized Steve Cunningham, winner of the Elliot R. Jones Award for his dedication and hard work with WCCCC and with our community. Cunningham is a dedicated chamber member who worked hard serving on our board and finance committee to help the Chamber grow. He helped improve the Chamber’s bottom line by recruiting new members, selling sponsorships and keeping the group fiscally responsible. Cunningham’s passion for community-building is evidenced by his service on the Coatesville Rotary (current president); Chester County Community Dental Board; Coatesville Area Partners for Progress (CAPP); Coatesville Library Board; and the Brandywine Health Foundation Strawberry Festival Advisory Committee.
