The Twin Valley Community Education Foundation (TVCEF) announced their annual community service award recipients at the 11th Annual Gala on Friday, November 16, at the Holiday Inn in Morgantown. Awards were given to Community Educator-Brenda Hoffman, Twin Valley School District Alumnus-Michelle Elliott, Community Volunteer-Deb Oldham, Rising Star-Jordan Putt, Community Business-Dan Fick and Karen Ketterer from Phoenix Rehab and Health Services, and Lifetime Achievement-Lyle Bliss. In addition, a surprise award was given to Terry McEwen for her outstanding community service.
TVCEF is a non-profit organization created by an independent board of community volunteers serving both Berks and Chester Counties. The mission of the Twin Valley Community Education Foundation is to serve as a link between business, the school district, and the community to provide educational, cultural, and recreational opportunities. TVCEF helps to support many unique opportunities for Twin Valley students through scholarships, cultural events, and teacher grants, as well as providing community programs such as evening adult classes and trips.
