Kutztown Fire Co. March 11: 1725 hours, 187 Smoketown Road, Rockland Township: Companies 35, 21, & 46 were dispatched for a reported chimney fire. Engine & Engine Tanker 46 responded with 14 personnel. Chief 35 arrived on location and recalled Company 46. The assignment was cleared at 1735 hours.

March 12: 1956 hours, 422 West Main Street, Kutztown Borough: Company 46 was dispatched for an AFA at 422 West Main Street on the Third Floor> Engine 46 responded with seven personnel to find the cause of the alarm was burned food. The residence naturally vented and the alarm reset. The assignment was cleared at 2042 hours.

2157 hours, 65 Baldy Street, Kutztown: Company 46 was dispatched to assist Company 590 with a cardiac arrest patient. Rescue 46 responded with 11 personnel. The assignment was cleared at 2213 hours.

March 14: 0601 hours, 222 NB @ College Blvd. Overpass, Maxatawny Township: Company 46 was dispatched to assist Company 33 with an accident with unknown injuries. The accident was found in Maxatawny Township just before the borough line. Rescue 46 set up the quick struts and removed the windshield to extricate the victim who was not hurt. The assignment was cleared at 0634 hours.

March 15: 0936 hours, 15827 Kutztown Road, Maxatawny Township: Company 46 was dispatched for an accident with unknown injuries. Deputy 46 arrived on location to find no fire services were needed and recalled the assignment. The assignment cleared at 0946 hours.

1437 hours, Noble & Trexler, Kutztown Borough: Company 46 was dispatched for an accident with confinement and unknown injuries. Deputy 46 arrived to find a pickup truck that had its cab torn off the frame and on its side. Crews stabilized the vehicle with cribbing and quick struts. Crews used the sawzall to remove the windshield to remove the patient. The assignment was cleared at 1519 hours.

Other: 19 State Police March 24 at 5:35 p.m. Pennsylvania State Police from the Hamburg Station responded to an accident on Kutztown Road in Kutztown Borough. Dominique Caponigro, 20, of Mount Pocono, caused the collision with Heather Fry, 22 of Hazelton, when attempting to turn left onto Kutzown Road from the Weis parking lot. Both cars were disabled as a result of the crash. Fry was taken to Lehigh Valley-17th and Chew by Kutztown EMS for minor injuries. Caponigro will be cited for vehicle entering or Crossing Roadway.

March 22: police responded to an accident on Mill Creek Road in Maxatawny at 7:06 p.m. Delcio Abreu, 24, of Reading, was travelling down Mill Creek Road when negotiating a sharp left turn and exited the right side of the roadway and struck a tree. Abreu’s vehicle then traveled down a slight embankment.

March 18 at 6:43 p.m. police responded to an accident on I-78 in Greenwich Township just west of Little Roundtop Road. Noah Krepps, 20, of Camp Hill, was travelling east bound in the right lane. Krepps panicked when snow and slush from a passing PennDOT truck struck his windshield. Krepps activated his breaks quickly and lost traction with the road. Krepps travelled towards the center concrete and collided. He travelled approximately 55 feet in an easterly direction and came to rest blocking the left lane facing in south easterly direction. Krepps refused medical treatment. A summary charge of Driving Vehicle at a Safe Speed was issued to Krepps.
