Kutztown Fair announces 2012 Scholarship Winners

The Board of Directors of the Kutztown Fair are proud to announce the selection of three outstanding young recipients for the 2012 Kutztown Fair Scholarship. Each recipient has life long experience exhibiting and volunteering at the Kutztown Fair, in addition to exceptional academic performance.
This is the 7th year the scholarships have been awarded. And since the first class of recipients in 2006, the Kutztown Fair has awarded over $43,000 to outstanding youth to 42 individuals.
The 2012 winners include: Chelsea Geisinger, Centerport, the daughter of Barry Geisinger and the late Catherine Geisinger. Jaylene Lesher, daughter of William and Lolly Lesher of Bernville, and Ashley Mohn the daughter of Steve and Karen Mohn of Womelsdorf.
Geisinger, is currently enrolled as a freshman at Penn State Berks studying Animal Science. During her 4H career, she was an active participant in the Northern Berks Dairy Club, and the Berks County Sheep Club. She has been exhibiting livestock at the Kutztown Fair for 8 years.
Lesher is a 10 year 4H club member that has been actively showing her own dairy cattle at the fair since she was 5. She is a member of the Western Berks Dairy Club, where she is a former club president, and the Berks County Beef Club. Jaylene has been exhibiting livestock at the fair for 13 years. Currently she is a freshman at Penn State Berks pursuing a degree in Animal Science.
Mohn is a dairy enthusiast and has been a member of the Western Berks 4H Club and the Conrad Weiser FFA. She has exhibited dairy cattle at the fair for almost 10 years. She has been a fair volunteer. Currently Mohn is a freshman at Delaware Valley College studying Dairy Science and communications.
The Kutztown Fair has been awarding scholarships to outstanding fair exhibitors since 2006. The recipients have not only demonstrated great academic performance, but served as community leaders, leaders in their high school and in their 4H and FFA chapters.
