Police seeking info on Christmas Day burglary in Pennwood Development

The Caernarvon Township Police Department has released information on the Christmas Day burglary of a single family residence in the Pennwood Development.

Just after 9 p.m. on Dec. 25, the owners of a residence on Horseshoe Drive returned home to find that their house had been broken into and that multiple items had been taken.

Upon arrival at the residence, police found that a basement window had been broken out to allow the suspect(s) to enter the house. The suspect(s) then removed jewelry from the master bedroom. The time of the burglary is estimated as being between 12:45 p.m. and 8:55 p.m.

The crime is similar in nature to another burglary earlier in 2012 in the area, in that the means of entry – a broken window – and items taken – jewelry – were signatures of the crime, though police have not release any information linking the crimes together.

The Caernarvon Township Police Department is asking that anyone who saw suspicious activity in the neighborhood that day, or anyone with any information regarding the burglary, to call the Crime Alert Berks County line at 1-877-373-9913 (where they can claim a cash reward if there tip leads to an arrest). Information may also be provided to Caernarvon Township’s Officer Eberly at 610-286-1012 - EXT 122.
