Amity Primary Center’s Pink & Perky Relay for Life team is trying a different kind of event to raise funds for this year’s Daniel Boone Relay. The team is hosting a Comedy Night at the Historic State Theater in Boyertown on Saturday, Feb. 23.

Kathy McNeely is one of the 14 members of this year’s Pink & Perky team. She said she grew up going to the theater on weekends, and happened to be looking on the website one day recently to see what was playing. She said she saw the fundraising link on the website.

“We went down to talk to them and we jumped at the idea of a comedy show,” said McNeely. We thought it is something different; no-one was doing anything like this. We have a real fun group of women on the team. I think it’s going to turn out to be a fun event.”
