Kutztown vocalists perform at District 10 Chorus Festival

Five Kutztown High School vocalists have been selected to perform at the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association’s District 10 Chorus Festival on Feb. 7 and 8.

Bryan M. Hartman, vocal director at Kutztown Area High School, announced that five KHS students are Cecily Ryan, Noel Bond, Rachael Williamson, Laila Fahim and Megan Laudenslager.

Ryan, a Soprano, is the daughter of Donald and Christine Ryan of Lenhartsville.

Bond, a Tenor, is the son of John and Kelly Bond of Kempton.

Williamson, an Alto, is the daughter of James and Heidi Williamson of Mertztown.

Fahim, an Alto, is the daughter of Lahcen and Dawn Fahim of Kutztown.

Laudenslager, an Alto, is the daughter of Art and Kathy Laudenslager of Mertztown.

This year’s festival will be held at Berks Catholic High School, with Bryan Scollick as the host. The District 10 Festival will include 200 of the best high school vocalists from 54 school districts. The guest conductor for the festival will be Dr. Russ Shelley, Professor of Music at Juniata College.

Public concerts will be given on Friday, Feb. 8 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 9 at 2 p.m. in the Berks Catholic High School Auditorium. Tickets will be on sale at the door.
