Honey Brook Twp, PA-The Life Enrichment Committee (LEC) at Tel Hai invites their neighbors to enjoy a fascinating presentation on the history of headgear on Thursday, February 28 at 7:15pm in the Garrett Community Center on the retirement community’s campus off Beaver Dam Road in Honey Brook Township. Hats! will be presented by local librarian, Lisa High.

The history of hats makes for an interesting journey back in time. The accessory enjoyed by men and women through history has been used in response to safety concerns, as part of military uniforms and even religious symbolism-as well as a personal fashion statement. Ms. High will share a collection of hats courtesy of the Bollman Hat Company of Adamstown, PA. The firm, founded in 1868, will provide samples of each decade from that date forward-complete with ‘a little history along the way,’ according to Ms. High. She also urges everyone attending to wear a favorite hat of their own.

Pre-registration and a $5 donation are requested of those wishing to attend. To confirm your reservation please call, Bill Morling, LEC member, at 610-273-4165. Directions to Tel Hai can be found on the website: www.telhai.org; using a GPS, please enter the community’s physical address-1200 Tel Hai Circle, Honey Brook.
