Fleetwood celebrates the arts in the community at The Art Event March 2.
“This year’s Art Event promises to be lots of fun,” said Diane Chisdak, Art Teacher.
The event will be held from noon to 5 p.m. at Fleetwood High School cafeteria.
“Approximately 100 students from Fleetwood Area High School are organizing a day filled with arts and crafts activities, such as wheel throwing and origami, music performances and entertainment,” she said.
Creation Stations will allow students to experience art for themselves, working with high school students to create works of art and have art experiences, including beading, pottery wheel, printing and much more.
Chisdak said local artists will be on hand to sell their work and there will be a large number of used books available for purchase.
“If you are hungry you can warm up on our homemade soups or chill down with a Rita’s treat,” she said.
Performances will entertain the crowd throughout the day, featuring students, community members and alumni.
“This festive event is ideal for young children up through adult,” she said.“Please come out and support the Art Event which supports Artifact, our school’s fine and literary magazine.”
The Art Event benefits the student fine art and literary magazine, the Artifact.
