State Police Feb. 11: At 2:28 a.m. Stephanie French of Macungie was travelling north on State Street Road in Longswamp Township when the operator lost control negotiating a curve in the roadway. The vehicle left the road way and the right front tire struck a ditch causing the vehicle to launch into the air and strike a telephone pole approximately five feet above the ground. The vehicle came to rest in a yard. French was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital by Macungie EMS for a laceration to her forehead and other aches and pains. Topton fire department and fire police assisted at the scene. French was not wearing a seat belt at the time.
Feb. 12: At 2:18 p.m. Scott Cressman was driving on Kutztown road in Hereford Township when he failed to notice an unnamed driver with a Ford F150 backing into a driveway. Cressman struck the front of the driver’s plow which caused him to make an evasive movement and drive up an embankment causing Cressman’s car to roll onto the passenger side of the car. No one was injured as a result of this crash.

Feb. 6: 10:14 a.m., Medical Assist, 740 Noble Street, Maxatawny Twsp:
Company 46 was dispatched to assist Company 590 with a BLS medical, reportedly and injured person on a roof. Deputy 46 arrived on location to find no fire services needed and recalled the assignment.
12:32 p.m., AFA 88 Bieber Alley, Kutztown Boro:
Company 46 was dispatched for a General Fire alarm. Engine 46 & Captain 46 responded with four personnel. The Engine arrived on location to find the cause to be from cooking and the alarm reset and the residence self vented. The assignment was cleared at 1307 hours.
12:40 p.m., AFA, 418 West Main Street, Kutztown Borough:
The company was dispatched for an AFA at 418 W. Main Street, 3rd floor. Deputy 46 arrived on location to find the alarm was from a candle that had been put out. The alarm reset and the assignment was cleared at 1252 hours.
Feb. 8: 10:31 p.m., Fire police detail, 737 & Kohlers Hill Road, Greenwich Twsp:
Company 46 was dispatched to assist PSP with a traffic problem due to the snow. Brush 46 & Deputy 46 reported only to be recalled by PSP. The assignment cleared at 2248 hours.
Feb. 9: 6:26 p.m., 301 East Main Street, Kutztown Boro:
Companies 46, 21 & 35 were dispatched for a reported stove fire with smoke in the apartment. Chief 46, Deputy 46, Engine, Ladder, and Rescue 46 responded with 11 personnel. Deputy 46 arrived to find the fire out with smoke in the apartment. Chief 46 recalled 21 & 35. Deputy 46 reported an oil fire on the stove that was extinguished by the tenants, causing smoke throughout the apartment. Crews ventilated the structure and the assignment was cleared at 1855 hours.
10:26 p.m., MVA with entrapment, Trexler Ave. & Whiteoak St, Kutztown Borough:
Company 46 was dispatched for an accident with entrapment and the vehicle on its side. Chief 46 arrived to report the victim was not injured but trapped in the vehicle. Crews from Rescue 46 stabilized the vehicle with cribbing and the rescue struts to assist with removal of the victim. Crews cleaned up a minor spill and cleared the assignment at 11:05 p.m.
Feb. 10: 12:59 a.m. MVA with Entrapment, Kuztown Rd at Church Rd, Maxatawny Twsp:
Company 46 was dispatched for their second entrapment call in about two hours. Chief, Deputy and Rescue 46 responded to find a vehicle that was on its side with the driver uninjured but trapped in the vehicle. Crews from the rescue removed the windshield to remove the driver. Crews used cribbing and rescue struts to stabilize this vehicle also. Crews cleaned up the scene and cleared the assignment at 1:58 a.m.
