ROBESON TOWNSHIP – Robeson Elementary Center’s annual Fun Fest will be held Saturday, March 9, 2013, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Fun Fest is a fun-filled, family-oriented event that raises money for school activities and materials that are not covered in the yearly budget. It will be held rain or shine, and the entire community is welcome to attend.
Several games will be set up inside the school. Prizes are awarded for winners of all games. There will be entertainment throughout the day provided by cheerleaders, fiddlers, and dancers.
Children and adults will enjoy teacher bingo, where some of Robeson’s favorite teachers will call the Bingo numbers and award special prizes. Local fire fighters, EMS personnel, and police will also be in attendance. This year there will once again be an area for small business owners to display and sell their merchandise. Space is still available so any interested parties are encouraged to contact the school for further information.
For just 50 cents a ticket, everyone can take a chance to win valuable prizes at the Chinese auction or one of many different theme baskets that are put together by Robeson students. Among the seventeen baskets you will find baskets such as: ‘Dad’s Helper,’ ‘For the Love Coffee,’ ‘Family Fun Night’, and ‘Pampered Mom.’ Purchased tickets are placed in canisters located beside the basket of items you would like to win. Tickets for the cash raffle are $1.00. This gives you a chance to win a cash prize of $50, $100, or $250. Winners will be drawn starting at 2:30 p.m. that day.
Many valuable items are also available for bidding at the silent auction, which will also end at 2:30. These items include Reading Royals tickets and Bear Creek lift tickets. There are also park hopper passes to Walt Disney World and passes to local amusement parks such as Ozzy’s, Dutch Wonderland, and Knoebel’s. Local businesses such as Birdsboro Beverage, Shady Maple, and Fulton Theater have donated gift certificates, free passes, and much, much more.
