An accident late Monday afternoon closed the 500 block of Washington Street.
The car left the street and flipped on its side on the sidewalk at the Berkshire building, 501 Washington St., around 4:10 p.m..
Initial reports indicated that crews were working to free the occupants of car, northbound on Washington Street.
One person was taken to Reading Hospital with unspecified injuries, police said Monday evening.
The accident remains under investigation.
