The Twin Valley High School Lacrosse Club began team practices on March 4, as the high school teams prepare to enter their first season as a PIAA sponsored varsity sport in the Berks League. The boys team will be starting their fourth year of competition after completing three highly successful seasons as a club team, while the girls team will play their inaugural season at the high school level. The players are chomping at the bit to get started, with their varsity status being the culmination of years of effort from the lacrosse club in preparation for this season.
The High School program should be strong for years to come as the club has full rosters for youth lacrosse teams for both boys and girls from elementary age up through high school. There are boys and girls teams for third and fourth graders, fifth and sixth graders, and seventh and eighth graders. In fact, there are two full teams at the boys seventh and eighth grade level. All these teams are also entering their fourth seasons, with many of the high school players having come up through the ranks.
Lacrosse is an exciting, high speed game at all levels, and one of the fastest growing sports at both the scholastic and collegiate levels. Come out and watch the Raiders in their inaugural season. The High School players begin first, with the Girl’s first home game scheduled for March 22 at 4:30 vs. Exeter, while the boys open the home season on March 25 vs. Wilson.
