Tri-Valley swim team competes at Charlie Hartley Silver Championships

Thirty-two Tri-Valley Swimmers attended the Charlie Hartley Silver Championship meet on February 23. The spirit of this meet is to give an opportunity for the silver level swimmers to experience the fun and excitement of a high level championship meet. These swimmers also had to qualify for this meet.

The team had 28 swimmers who achieved their personal best times. The 8 and under Girls Free Relay Team broke the Tri-Valley record for 100 Yard Freestyle Relay (Lauren Paules, Mary Carl, Hailey Reinhard, and Maren Schermerhorn) with a time of 1:09.81. The Tri-Valley team also qualified two more additional swimmers for the YMCA East District Championship Meet (Zoe Keim and Kera Reinhard).

There were three swimmers who finished first in their event receiving a plaque. Maren Schermerhorn finished first in the Girls 8 Year Olds 25 Yard Butterfly. Zoe Keim was a double winner in the Girls 15 and over 100 Yard Backstroke and 200 Yard IM. Hailey Reinhard won all of her individual events. She finished first in the girls’ 7 year-olds 25 Yard Butterfly, 25 Yard Breaststroke, and 50 Yard Freestyle.

They also had 11 swimmers who finished in the top eight receiving medals. They were Lauren Paules, Mary Carl, Maren Schermerhorn, Emma Dietrich, Julia Werner, Kera Reinhard, Katelyn Laskosky, Michael Tierney, Zoe Keim, Connor Chapkovich, and Caitlyn Scrobe.

Two Relay teams finished in the top 5: Girls 8 and Under 100 Yard Freestyle placed third (Lauren Paules, Mary Carl, Hailey Reinhard, and Maren Schermerhorn) and the Boys 8 and under 100 Yard Freestyle placed fifth (Aiden Adamski, Cole Chukoskie, Joseph Chukoskie, and Dylan Yellets
