Brandywine fashion heads to the circus on April 6.

For the 18th year in a row the Brandywine Heights Area High School will be hosting the art fashion showCircus Under the Big Top: The Greatest Fashion Show on Earth at the Brandywine Heights High School. PreShow at 5:30 includes carnival games and food, photobooth and more. The show starts at 7 p.m.

The theme this year the theme for the fashion show is a circus and all of the costumes in the show will reflect a circus theme.

‘We’re turning the lobby into a sideshow with jugglers and a surprise appearance by a local band,’ said Suzanne Oswald, a Brandywine Heights Area High School art teacher who is involved with the show.

The show is a part of the Art 3 and 4 curriculumat Brandywine Heights Area High School.

‘The students have to come up with a preliminary design board like a real designer who is preparing for a fashion show,’ Oswald said.

Juniors and seniors are in the art program and have been designing the set and the costumes that the models will be wearing.

‘They recruit their friends and a few of the lower classmen to be models for the show,’ Oswald said.

In total, there are about 60 students who will be a part of the show.

The students have even been working over their spring break finishing up the set last Wednesday.

‘Today, we turned the cafeteria into the inside of a circus tent to go along with the theme,’ Oswald said.

One member of the community will be making kettle corn and another will be making caramel apples for the audience so that they believe they are in a circus.

The show will hold up to 600 people and tickets will be available at the door, but Oswald suggests that those who wish to come, buy tickets in advance.

‘Last year, we had to turn people away from the door because it was completely sold out,’ Oswald said.

The show will also be aired on Channel 99 for those who will not be able to make it.

For ticket information call the Brandywine High School at 610-682-5102. The doors for this year’s show will open at 5:30 p.m. and the show will begin at 7 p.m.
