HARRISBURG — Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane issued a consumer alert warning Tuesday about an apparent scam concerning the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare.
Recently, residents across the county have received calls asking for personal information so they can obtain a national medical card from the government, according to a release from Kane’s office.
“Do not ever give out personal, health care or bank account information over the phone, unless you initiated the call and you know who is on the other end,” Kane said.
The attorney general’s Health Care Hotline is available for anyone who has been contacted with an offer to obtain the fake national medical card. That number is 877-888-4877.
