Tri-Valley YMCA Winter Swim Team ended its season on a strong note by sending two swimmers to Penn State University to compete in the 2013 Pennsylvania YMCA State Swimming Championship Meet (combination of 79 YMCA swim teams across Pennsylvania).
Nikolette Nolte medaled by placing sixth in the state in the (Girls 11/12) 50 Yard Freestyle with a time of 26.09 and had her career best (Girls 11/12) 200 Yard Individual Medley time of 2:21.79 which placed her 3rd in the state. Rachel Stump finished 16th in the (Girls 15 and over) 200 Yard Backstroke with a time of 2:20.37.
The Tri-Valley swim team had an overall great 2012-13 swim season with many accomplishments. Lauren Paules broke the 1999 TRVY Girls 8 and under 50 Yard Breaststroke Record with a time of 46.08.
The Girls 8 and under Free Relay Team (Hailey Reinhard, Mary Carl, Lauren Paules, and Maren Schermerhorn) broke the 2012 TRVY 100 Yard Freestyle Relay record with a time of 1:09.81. The Tri-Valley Girls Team won the 2013 Madison Girls Division; plus, the Girls 9/10 and Girls 11/12 age brackets went undefeated.
Other accomplishments were the following: 22 first place finishes at the 2013 Girls/Boys Madison Championship Meet, Three championship meet records broken by Nikolette Nolte, 65 plus swimmers who qualified for 2013 Charlie Hartley Silver Championship meet, 30 swimmers who qualified for the 2013 YMCA Eastern District Meet, and two swimmers who qualified for the 2013 YMCA States Meet.
At the team’s annual team banquet, there were awards distributed for high attendance, high points, and a Star Award. The High Attendance awards were given to Lauren Paules and Aiden Adamski (8 and under), Peyton Rautzahn, Kera Reinhard, and Jacob Kramer (9/10) Lauren Tanis and Shawn Bessey (11/12), Krystal Nolte and John Cox (13/14), and Leigh Stafford and Connor Chapkovich (15 and over).
The High Point Awards were awarded to Hailey Reinhard and Joe Chukoskie (8 and under), Greta Feiertag and Luke Rautzahn (9/10), Nikolette Nolte and Drew Waters (11/12), Krystal Nolte and Jacob Cox (13/14), and Rachel Stump and Justin Kachel (15 and over). Amy Yoder received the Star Award. This new award is given to a swimmer who has shown perseverance and determination during the swim season.
