Brandywine junior Todd Grace hosts the annual Brandywine Heights High School Senior Showcase on April 26 at 7 p.m. at the high school.

The 17-year-old District Township teen is working on obtaining rank of Eagle Scout in Boy Scouts.

One of the may requirements along the trail to Eagle is to plan and execute a service project that benefits the community, said Grace.

His project is hosting the annual senior showcase, a concert that gives the graduating seniors a chance to show off their musical talent, he said.

I wanted to do something that I have experience in, Ive helped my band and choir director set up and organize our school concerts for the last three years and Ive always had fun doing it.

The concert is focused on this years graduating class. Everyone is invited.

It is a chance for the seniors to show off the musical talents that they have been focusing on during their high school career, said Grace. I hope people enjoy seeing the wide range of performances. There will be singing and instrumentalists preforming everything from the most formal, classical pieces to todays biggest hits.

In the past, admission to the showcase was free, this year Grace asks for one non-perishable food item per person for admittance.

To get into the concert, there is a charge of one non-perishable food good per person, after the concert I am taking the food donations to the Brandywine Community Food Bank out of Trinity Lutheran Church in Topton, he said.

Involved in Scouting since first grade, Grace has been participating the Boy Scouts for 11 years.

I like all of the activities we do. We do a lot of fun things that I probably would never have done if it werent for Scouting, he said.
