Heavy rains all morning, with more expected this afternoon, have forced the cancellation of the racing events scheduled for this evening at Big Diamond Speedway.
Racing resumes at Big Diamond Speedway next Friday, April 19, with a regular show of ZY Pyrotechnics 358 Modifieds, USS Achey Sportsman, and Savage 61 Roadrunners. Also on the card next Friday will be round 2 of the Anthracite Coal Deliver Street Stocks.
In two weeks on Friday, April 26, Big Diamond Speedway presents the season opener for the URC Sprint cars. This will be the only appearance for the URC sprinters at Big Diamond in 2013, brought to you by Alpine Building Supply of Schuylkill Haven. They will be joined that evening by the 358 Modifieds and Roadrunners.
This coming Thursday, April 18, will be the season opener for Little Diamond Speedway. The 125cc Micro Sprints, 270cc Micro Sprints, and Slingshots will be the three divisions competing on the Little Diamond.
Gates for Little Diamond Speedway open at 6 p.m. with warm-ups slated for 6:45 p.m. Managements goal is to have the entire show completed in two hours or less each and every week to insure everyone gets home at a reasonable hour.
